2008 Mini Cooper S Cars How much will driving a crap ton for a month hurt my car?
I'm not worried about value, really... I really love my car (2008 Mini Cooper S) and at this point I have it set in my head that I want to keep it for as long as I possibly can.
I usually don't drive too often, but I'm thinking about taking this class every day for 30 days... and it's 38 miles away. Even if I don't drive ANYWHERE else but to there and back, I'd add 2280mi to my car in just a month! And that seems like a -huge- amount (I've been averaging about a quarter of that a month so far).
Will piling on the miles hurt my car too badly? I mean, how much if it's lifespan might I be losing by doing this? Am I getting too worked up over this?
Since you guys are discussing it: My Mini was made in England and shipped on a boat over to me But it was distributed by a BMW dealership. They also used to do the maintenance on it for me, until a stand-alone Mini dealership was built nearby.
Modern cars are meant to be driven. They are a lot more reliable than those of even 10 years ago. Compared to the original Coopers your Mini Cooper is in a different league. As long as you do the usual daily / weekly checks and have it serviced you should have no problem. Modern engines are good for over 100k miles before any problems
