my brother has a 2007 or 08 automatic honda civic and im going to be getting a car soon and i really am considering the mini cooper, it has always been a favorite car of mine and i really do want a car that will beat my brothers, i don't really know what year the cooper would be i just want to know who would win in that pretty much standard car race.

Put the two cars on a track, and race them.

But sitting there, in a chair, behind a computer, is not racing.

Asking us who would win, is not racing. Mainly because we CANNOT estimate how well either of you will drive, how the cars will perform, the track conditions, or ANYTHING that would factor in a race.

It's just a pissing contest.

So put $500 on it, take it to a legal track, and get time slips.

If either of you is unwilling to do so, they lose by default.

Final note: If you consider just hitting a gas pedal and seeing who goes faster as "a standard car race", that's pretty sad. There's dozens of types of races, and you chose the one that requires basically no skill, in a stock vehicle.

To be in the list, the car must meet the tough standards of Car and Driver. Their requirements include stability and control and a maximum of six airbags in the front and side curtains. These features are not standard on some vehicles and cost a little more, but though it cost some extras, they are still priced lower than $25,000.
