What's the point of a double action only semi auto pistol?
Why would anyone want the harder repeated trigger pull? My friend just bought a Sig 226 and just realized it's double action only. We are wondering why anyone would want this when buying a semi-auto pistol.
Keoni and Falcon great answers so far!!! Exactly what I'm looking for! I'm very experienced with long guns and revolvers but still learning about semi pistols and appreciate the help.
The main reasons for DAO are safety and familiarity.
By having a DAO pistol (and it's harder trigger pull) you are supposed to have less likelihood of having a negligent discharge.
Also the DAO trigger helps you avoid trying to learn two very different trigger pulls. (single and double)
With a DAO pistol, the drill is simple: draw pistol, aim, and fire. You get the same consistent trigger stroke for each shot, the length of which reduces the chances of an accidental discharge. In addition, to make a DAO pistol "safe" all you have to do is remove your finger from inside the trigger guard.
That's the idea behind the Glock and the striker fire pistols on the market today. Consistency.
The DAO pistols on the market have a huge following in law enforcement circles. With a little practice it is a trusted self defense pistol.

Airsoft gun only fires one bb on full auto and on single shot?
I have an issue with my new AK47 airsoft gun. It will only fire one shot (BB) on full auto or single shot. The gun is loaded correctly (took apart the magazine to confirm) and it the spring is wound up tight. Battery is charged too. I am using the right BBs and didn't add anythign to the gun. The manual that it came with is basically non existant. What do you guys think is wrong? Please tell me!
Your selector plate might be off. Try to align it correctly?

I'm using a scorpid right now… perhaps I'm not using it right though, I don't see where he's any more dps than my cat (but I love him in arenas) Should claw and poison both be on auto? Or only poison? And what exactly are the side effects of the poison? Nothing? Just a dot?
