Cobalt Mini
What car should I get?
I have a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 and it's just too much of a pain to maintain, as far as gas and maintenance. I've been looking around for cars but I just don't know what to look for! I ask my friends but everyone has their opinions. I want more though, as many as I can get. I want to know what people think about VW Jettas (I drove one and really liked it), Mini Coopers, Chevy cobalt (or any), VW Beetles, Mitsubishi (other than mine), Honda's in general..Basically just good gas mileage cars that won't require a TON of maintenance and won't cost A FORTUNE. Every opinion is appreciated, thanks!
I don't blame you for wanting to ditch the VR4, It's way past it's prime.
I've never owned anything other than an American car because, here in Ohio, the others cost A LOT more, used. and I've never had enough money to buy a non-american car, in decent condition. BUT I know some people that own Hondas, Toyotas, VW's and they don't complain about their cars breaking down or leaving them stranded.
if I did have enough money for a new car, I would probably buy a Honda Accord or a Subaru. because these cars just seem to keep going and going and going- way past 160,000 miles. And if I get bored with it, I can sell it and get a lot of my money back !!! (better than American cars, for sure).

Best used car for 9k?
I recently got my DL, drove an 2000 mini van for a month now I want to get a newer car.
Criteria: a reliable small sedan.
What years and specific cars should I look at? (hyundai elantra, chevy cobalt, nissan versa etc)
I highly recommend Honda Civics. You could get a 2003-2005 or so for $9000 or less, I'm sure. They are reliable, good on gas, fun to drive and hold their value well.
