Mini Car Parts What car to restore out of these three?
Hi,
I'm fourteen years old, and my dad agreed to help me restore a car to drive as my first. I have about $5000 to spend on this project, which needs to include the car and parts. I need help deciding what kind of car to restore. I am considering a 65 mustang ($1500) a '89 BMW 325i ($1200) or a mini mayfair from the eighties. The only reason I am considering the mini is because it will probably be the least expensive to restore. What are your thoughts? Could I even accomplish this?
the mustang runs, and just needs bodywork. I have yet to find a mini. The bmw would just be minor work, some surface rust repair, new coat of paint, engine tuning

It will be MUCH cheaper and easier to restore than the other two. Every single part can be purchased new for the Mustang, it is one of the simplest cars ever built, it will run forever and will actually be worth something when you're done. The BMW is a horrible choice -- each replacement part will cost ten times that of the Ford and you will spend thousands of dollars and thousands of hours dealing with the finicky German. When you're done, you will have more invested in maintenance than it's worth.
