I was just wondering if anyone was considering trading in or getting an extra car that gets better gas mileage

I drive a mini van, and just started working part time just to get out of the house, since my kids are now in school. I told myself, that when gas gets $4 a gallon (it already is in CA) that I would buy myself just a little commuter car for me to drive to work and back, but I can't give up my van, so it would just be my second car. I am wondering how many other people have the same idea.

No, I already have the perfect car. I have a Pontiac Vibe, it gets excellent mileage in the city and on the highway. I usually only have to fuel up twice a month and we live in Houston, so you know we go all over the place. My daughters are still in school in New Mexico and I drive up to see them at least once a month.
My brother is going to get them a car for graduation, I'm hoping they will opt for a Vibe. My younger daughter already has a motorcycle and has said many times, she was happy with her little Harley. It's good on gas.

what would we need to do this, i.e with regards to tools. obviously we would need different parts for each car, but what tools would i need e.g grinder and all that

would we be able to re-paint the cars from my garage or do we need a special garage?
