   It also depends if your family still have a huge mortgage on your home. If it is loan free then you are considered upper middle class.

   If you still have a huge mortgage on that huge house then you could be a very poor middle class since your parents could lose their jobs anytime. Without a job your family can't pay for the mortgage and you could be homeless in less than 6 months unless you have $1 million cash in the bank or more.

   It also depends on how much cash and other assets or investments your family have.

   Anyway, if your family were to be more frugal, your family will have no fear of being poor again. Everyone was poor sometime in their generations. Everybody made their money somehow but some are so lucky that their parents left them with huge amounts of money. Those are truely the rich folks.

   Rich folks don't have to work hard to make a living like poor uneducated people. That will be another interesting question – why do people who are poor does not want to study hard in school so they get ahead in life and make better living?

   My guess is these poor people think God will reward them after they die on earth so why work hard to study at all. Or maybe they say why study hard when it is so hard to do when I could be playing around instead. I don't need the money anyway. I like to be poor or something like that.

   Humans are pretty strange for sure. Hard work normally pays off in the end but no one seem to understand this simple concept. Asian culture knows working hard is the end of poverty. What about other cultures? I have no idea.
