Mini Cooper Awd
Looking to buy an older station wagon for $2-4K... which is the best model?
Looking to buy a second car ... just bought a Mini Cooper, but need a bigger car for driving the kids around in (two kids, ages 4 and 8). Would like to buy an older but reliable station wagon. Was thinking the Subaru's seem to stay fairly reliable over the long haul so am investigating the Outback/Legacy models. Any other cars come to mind? I think a decent BMW 535 will be out of my price range. Am afraid of the SAAB 9-5's - have heard horrible things about them. Had a lemon Volvo many years ago so a bit hesitant but there seem to be loads of them on the used market. Would like to be able to take the kids and a friend or two places, but also use the car for going on ski weekends. Would prefer AWD as I live in the NorthEast with snow and ice in the wintertime.
