The Story Of Little Abasi
THE STORY OF LITTLE ABASI
That morning, like all others, found little Abasi rising with the lark in his tent among other orphans.
Abasi "lives" in a remote village deep in the horn of Africa, a place forgotten by gods and people.
That night was very generous towards severely broken - due to famine - Abasi.
He dreamt of his recently deceased mother and felt the sweet warmth of her lap. The dawn found sleeping Abasi with a faint smile on his face.
Gathering all the courage he could find, Abasi lugged his emaciated little body towards the closest assembly of the men of his tribe.
He didn't even realize what led him to this hopeless action. It was most possibly his instinct.
Abasi, frustrated from the non-fulfilment of his momentary expectation, came back in his tent, lied face up near it and let his empty glance float on the distant horizon.
Suddenly the horizon is converted to a huge screen on which the scarce happy moments of his short and hard life unfold: his mother, his lost siblings, one warm smile, a caress...
Abasi's eyes get heavier and heavier.
The screen flares vaguely and disappears from the firmament.
Abasi's eyes close.
Another scene from the theater of the absurd comes to it's end!
The second part of the mini guide for personal development
WE AND THE OTHERS
(You can find the first part on articlesbase.com too)
1. Always seek mutual benefit. Relations should be balanced, otherwise they are doomed to failure.
2. We live in an era of extreme specialization. Everybody is an expert in his domain. Believe in the value of cooperation.
3. Always try to walk for a while in others' shoes!
4. Treat others as you would like to be treated!
5. Learn to communicate more effectively!
* Use a clear language without jargon and embroidery.
* Listen with your heart and soul.
* Don't let your mind fly elsewhere.
6. If somebody asks for your help, give it liberally without second thought. You will take it back with a high dividend.
7. Try to avoid people with a negative attitude. Your dreams and expectations will be in danger. Try to associate with positive people who could be for you sources of inspiration.
8. Be consistent with your promises and obligations.
9. Try to elicit from the others their best self.
10. Never keep a critical attitude towards personalities. Just judge actions and behaviours.
11. Learn to forgive.
12. Show generosity! Take the necessary steps to support a relation even if you need to make some sacrifices!
13. People with high emotional quotient will manage to control their negative feelings.
14. If you can intervene and conciliate two conflicting parts, you will grant a great service to society.
15. You are noble-minded if you can acknowledge your mistakes and ask humbly for forgiveness.
16. It's acceptable to influence other people in a positive way but it's morally punishable to manipulate them.
17. Set right and realistic expectations for your relationships. Thus, you will avoid painful disappointments and loss of valuable time.
18. Many people hide inside them pearls of divine beauty. Can you become a pearl diver?
19. You cannot always be the good boys. Sometimes you will need to say "NO". Just do it with respect for their feelings.
20. Although you may be the best of the best, there will always exist people that will defame and dispraise you! This shouldn't drive you to despair because it's a part of the game!
21. Try to balance between your individuality and team spirit. Sometimes you will have to submit. At times you will need to step ahead and become a beacon for other people!
