try this find your fuse box and check the fuse make sure the fuse(s) are not blown. If it is then change the fuse. Usually in most cars and trucks there are two fuses when one fuse blows the othere cannot hold the power to operate the radio. But instead the other fuse holds just enough power to keep your settings from being reset. The 3 main power wires to a head unit are :
RED – Main power. This turns the head unit on when the key is turned on.
Yellow – Constant 12V. This one maintains the memory of your settings so you dont have to keep setting the radio everytime you turn on the key.
Black or Brown – Negative or Ground. This should be connected to the vehicles chassis to prevent short out.
Check these suggestions and the connection of the wires and if this doesnt help then drop by your local car audio shop and they can better assist you. Hope this helps….
I test drove the 07' because I was going to trade in my 05' for one. few things I didnt like was the cosmetic changes and they took out the sports suspension option from the sports package, which sucks if you really like to drive the mini and have fun with it around corners. It also sitts up higher about 2 inches which is very noticable when compared to the 02'-06'. the car looks larger which takes away from the MINI feel. And because of the suspension not being as firm, it feels a lot softer. The options on the inside are very pretty though. nice colors, the gauges change color, i like the double sunroof opening, and it is faster. I am a fan of turbos over superchargers so I did like the feel of the turbo kicking in at 2300 rpm. Its got a lower rev with more go. and because of the turbos, its a lot quieter. overall the car is very nice but I didnt like the cosmetic work done to it. also when you look at the headers that go into the turbos, BMW looks like they welded it together and didnt do much about it. I looked poorley finished. Which is why I still have a 05'
