Mini Cooper Owners - Can you help me?
I recently bought a 2008 Mini Cooper S. The dealer acquired it as a trade-in and is not very knowledgeable about them. We have noticed that a light comes on saying that the passenger side air bag is turned off. Anyone know how to turn it back on? Have not found anything in the owner's manual. Thank you for any input you can give.
That is controlled by a pressure switch in the seat. And also by a switch in the seat belt. If there isn't enough pressure on the seat it will turn off the air bag to avoid unnecessary deployment.
However, I've seen a few complaints about this issue. Even though a passenger is in the seat and the belt is buckled the lamp will still stay on. If this is your issue, I would suggest taking it to a dealer. Your pressure switch could be at fault.
