Suggestions on replacement tires for Mini Cooper?

If you don't want to buy run flat tires again, what are the options? Do you have to buy new rims if you don't go with the run flat tires? Or should I stick to the run flats? Do I have to buy run flats from BMW?

You don't need new rims if you don't buy run flats.

As soon as mine wore out, I replaced them with a set of Hankook Ventus RS2's, and they're great. Excellent grip, low price. and better riding.

If you stick with run-flats, you can buy them from any tire dealer.

2004 MINI Cooper S Run Flat vs Standard Low Pros?

I bought my MINI 1 yr ago. It came with 2 diff set of tires on it. I thought strange that it didn't come with the run flats considering its fully loaded and it's a type S. So...I get a nail in my tire, close to the edge. The wall of tire appears to be splitting slightly. So I know I need to invest in tires. Yet, the last owner(1st owner)put 215 40 17 83 H when the tire companies around town and mini info states 205 45 v rated is required/recommended. But I also am interested in run flats since i dont have a spare with my car, and I have a daughter! Safety safety! What ya think? and what's the diff from h rated and v rated? I know the diff of run flats and standards...I want low profiles.

I was very glad when I got rid of my run flats. They don't hold the road as well as "regular" tires. Consider that in the safety equation.

I bought an inexpensive tire inflation kit that contains a small 12v air compressor, and a bottle of "Slime" tire sealant.

Currently, I am running Hankook Ventus R-S2, 215/45-17's Very nice handling tire, good bang for the buck.
