should i buy a mini cooper s?

Hi im currently going on deployment for about a year and expecting to come back with about 30g, i was going to dump about 13g into a mini because personally i really like those cars, I dont know much about cars, but i was going to buy it for show, and i also want to take it to the track i was going to put money into it alot of money into getting work done. ive done some research on them and read its about 7 seconds to get 0-60(stock) idk if thats true or not, but i was wondering can i make them fast? whats good to put in them? i believe they come with turbo inside them but what modifications should i put in? My question is basiclly are they a good car? (and yes i know racing will ruin the engine but im ok with that) and what modifications should i put in them to make them faster so i can start looking at some specs, also what colors and (stripes) would you guys suggest so i can compare what i like to yours. thanks

Pros: They're zippy AND fuel efficient.
They're pretty stylish.
Good city and economy car.
Good resale value

Cons:
They're highly expensive for a small car (due to frequent dealer markups, since they are in "high demand")
BMW seems have a monopoly on MINI parts (they're the only company to make parts that fit the small MINI).
Reliability is pretty spotty.

In the end, you would have probably had to pool in all 30G on a MINI S (yes the MSRP is 23k, but with dealer markup and various options mixed in, they're expensive). For aftermarket performance, try looking at John Cooper Works or browse NorthAmericanMotoring.com

If you just want a racer from the get-go, consider the Mini Cooper JCW.

In the UK, the mini has remained as much of a proud national symbol as the three lions, the Union Jack and even the humble cup of tea.
