I bought a Line 6 Spider III 75watt amp about a year ago and the thing is I really don't like the amp. It lacks tonal quality, especially in the clean channel. It feels empty. Yeah the effects are cool but I prefer pedals. Anyways my question is, what is the best electric guitar amp that I can get for about $200-$600? I was looking at the Fender Frontman 212r. Is it any good? Or what about the Marshall MG100HDFX/MG412 Half Stack? I want an amp with a really good, smooth clean channel and a good overdrive channel. Any other suggestions? Oh yeah, I use a Fender Squier Strat and a Fender Squier Jagmaster guitar and I play Hendrix, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana White Stripes, Wolfmother, Smashing Pumpkins style of music.
yeah, the marshall probably has the tone you are looking for. a good choice would be an old ampeg v4 if you can find one in your price range.

More like they've achieved a sensible grasp on when to court the masses, and when to drop the Boognish gospel upon the faithful.A handful of tunes signify Ween's most explicit attempts yet to create genuine silly love songs that become radio hits, and get canonized by the straight world. "Even If You Don't" is a Bay City Rollers-type upfront pop-rock ditty, "Stay Forever" is a gorgeous soft-rock charmer full of the melodic and harmonic magic of ELO, while "Falling Out" is prime faux-Merseybeat fashioned from the Beatles' "Little Girl." That the sentiments in each of these songs are direct and decidedly non-toxic intimates that Gene and Dean have been spending more time in love, and less on the Scotchguard bongs. Then again, the metallic bluster of Dean's "Stroker Ace," the quasi-Caribbean shipwreck drug story "Bananas and Blow," and the Steely Dan-like tale of a floozy named "Pandy Fackler," show that they're still comfortable hanging out in the more mucus-infested corners of their imaginations.

After parodying the idiosyncrasies of community theater devotees in the mock documentary Waiting for Guffman, actor/director Christopher Guest returns with another semi-improvised comedy that casts a satirical gaze on the world of championship dog breeding and training. A television crew is on hand to document the prestigious Mayflower Kennel Club Dog Show, and competition is fierce among the canine devotees vying for top honors. Salesman Gerry Fleck (Eugene Levy), who is cursed with two left feet (literally), and his wife Cookie (Catherine O'Hara) have entered their Norwich terrier "Winky" in competition. Wealthy and neurotic Meg Swan (Parker Posey) and her husband Hamilton (Michael Hitchcock) are on hand with their Weimaraner "Beatrice," who they fear may have been traumatized by watching them have sex. Scott Donlan (John Michael Higgins) and his life partner Stefan Vanderhoof (Michael McKean) have brought their beloved Shih Tzu, "Miss Agnes." Trophy wife Sherri Ann Cabot (Jennifer Coolidge) and her close friend and trainer Christy Cummings (Jane Lynch) are hoping for a repeat victory for Sheri's poodle, "Rhapsody In White." And Harlan Pepper (Guest), who operates a store specializing in fly-fishing gear, has decided to stack his bloodhound "Hubert" up against the competition. In addition to Guest, Levy, O'Hara, and Posey, several other veterans of the Waiting for Guffman cast also appear in Best in Show, including Fred Willard, Bob Balaban, and Lewis Arquette. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
