Red Premium Cold
Is a 550W PSU enough?
I recently ordered a new computer and told the people I ordered from to overclock the GPU with complete stability, but I wasn't really sure if the PSU was powerful enough to handle it
Heres the System Specs:
Power Supply: 550W Corsair HX (Dual SLI Compatible) (Silent Edition)
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 2.5GHz (1333MHz FSB) (6MB Cache)
Motherboard: NVIDIA 750i SLI Core 2 Quad (Chipset: nForce 750i SLI)
System Memory: 4GB DDR2 800MHz OCZ
Hard Drive : 500GB Western Digital (16MB Cache) (7200 RPM) (SATA)
Video Card(s): ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB
Internal Lighting: Blizzard Internal Lighting (Red Edition) (Cold Cathode Tubes)
Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium (32 Bit)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
550W is more than plenty for a single-card system like that, which is all you can run anyway, since you went and put an ATI card on an nVidia SLI board. 
(I wish I had a nickel for every time I see someone put an ATI card on an nVidia SLI board, or an nVidia card on an ATI Crossfire board. These mismatched combinations are money-wasters, since you are paying hundreds for SLI or Xfire capability you can't use.)
A single-video-card system like that can actually run just fine on PSUs as small as 350W.

This system could prob pla at max settings comfortably though the gefoce gts 250 is not the best, with the nforce mobo its a lot better, id say at max aprox 40-60 in city and 30-40 in battle give or take 20 fps
