i want to change my automatic to a manual?
i want to change my 92 honda accord to a manual transmission, i have a 3000 dollar dc sports exhaust system and dc sports headers. i want to swap the engine to a h22a and turbo charge it. the problem is the car is an automatic and i was wonder the costs of changing the car to a manual and the work involved.
Well since your planning on swapping the engine with a H22A, converting it to a manual at the same time wouldn't be hard or costly. You would have to get the manual transmission of course and the mounts because the one for the automatic transmission is different. You would need the Clutch Master Cylinder nad shift linkage. You would have to cut out piece of the firewall to mount the clutch pedal. Also you need to get manual pedal assembly from the manual transmission car because the ones for the automatic are to big will not work. You will also need to swap the center console to support the gear stick.

What Detroit Diesel engine do I have?
I am working on a early 80's GMC 2 ton flat bed truck with a Detroit Diesel, in line 4 cylinder with both a super charger and a turbo. I think it is a silver motor?? I need to know what model of engine this is so I can get the right shop manual???
If it is indeed a 4 cylinder, it is most likely a 4-53.
"4" = 4-cylinder
"53" = 53 cubic inches per cylinder.
ALL two-stroke DDs have a super-charger, or more commonly referred to as a "blower", and most highway vehicles also had the turbo.
Some stationary equipment didn't use the turbo, but ALL had the blower.
